You have seen how to use layouts to display data and allow it to be entered. Both Browse and Find modes are designed for interactive use on the screen. You can print a layout, but obviously the interactive parts of the layout such as buttons, pop-up menus, and scrolling portals become static when printed. FileMaker Pro provides another mode, Preview mode, that is used for reporting. Preview mode is not interactive. It is designed primarily for printing, so instead of using scrollbars, which require interactivity, it paginates data that is too big for a printed page.
