Introduction

Sustainable development means that an unlimited number of stakeholders will benefit from positive external results in the economy, society, and environment.

The 2030 Agenda’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as the Paris Climate Agreement as emphasized in the United Nations secretary-general’s report (UNSG 2019), provides a pathway for a more prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future. In particular, the 2030 Agenda1 defined 17 SDGs and 169 targets to end poverty, fight inequalities, tackle climate change, and ensure that no one is left behind.
