Chapter 11: Using a buyer's advocate and other professionals
The sure-fire way to know you are buying the right property at the right price is to use a buyer’s advocate. Also called buyer’s agents, buyer’s advocates are licensed real estate professionals who specialise in searching, evaluating and negotiating the purchase of property on behalf of a buyer for investors and homeowners.
While a selling agent (real estate agent) works for the seller (or vendor), a buyer’s advocate works exclusively for the buyer. Some buyer’s advocates also offer a vendor advocacy service but, by law, an agent cannot represent both parties in the same transaction.
