Chapter 14. NXT-G Programming Concepts
Team members need a solid understanding of the basics of NXT-G, the drag-and-drop programming environment designed for the LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT robotics kit, to successfully compete in the Robot Game portion of the FLL competition.
For the Robot Game, the building of the robot frequently overshadows the programming. Nevertheless, it can be argued that programming is the more important skill; without it, your awesome robot will make a nice bookend.
This chapter first reviews some of the key NXT-G programming blocks (such as the Move and Loop blocks), discusses why they’re important to your FLL robot, and offers some ways to use them in competition.
