Chapter 14

Developing the Contingency Plan

Abstract

A Contingency Plan enables you to remove risks to your system posed by outages and disruptions. The nature of unprecedented disruptions can create confusion and often predispose an otherwise competent IT staff toward less efficient practices. Confusion and inefficiency create risk. Contingency planning and testing enables you to eliminate some of that risk.
