Chapter 30. Fixtures and Adapting the Application

30.1 Introduction

In Chapter 12, we introduced RentAPartySoftware and the general issues that it was facing with RentEz, its software product. In Part II, we showed how Fit tables were introduced to deal with a variety of testing issues.

In this part, we present the programmers’ perspective and show how fixtures were developed for the tables introduced in the chapters in Part II. We also show how those fixtures were connected to the system under test and the slow, focused evolution of the system to enable better testing where it was most needed. By the end of this part, we see the programmers carrying out new, agile development that is driven by Fit tests.
