Typography is much more than just the typeface or the text of a composition. It is about balance, positioning, hierarchy, and structure. Still, your choice of font is an important part of this process.

Some important features to consider when choosing your source are as follows:

  • Legibility: Are the characters very different from each other? Highly modular or geometric fonts may be less legible than those with more organic and individualized shapes. Many types do not have a good distinction between the il, 1l e Il, glyphs, such as the Gill Sans font.
  • Reading: Is reading the font comfortable in the text body? Does the font work in long texts? A good typeface for a UI has to be extremely readable in small sizes. As the text gets too small, ...
