One of the best components that you can use with Flex is baked right into the framework. Charting has always been a pain on the Web. You can use open source frameworks like GD (http://www.boutell.com/gd/) to draw graphics on the server, but the results often leave a lot to be desired, and there is little or no interactivity in the charts.
