5.1 Introduction

Although we have already derived linear dynamic equations of motion about a steady equilibrium flight, as discussed in Chapter 4, we shall examine the derivation process in some detail in this chapter. This is essential particularly as it is important to understand the limitations of such approximations and the context in which they may be applied.
