Chapter 9. Uploading Your Creations to the Web

Crowding a bunch of friends around your Flip's tiny screen isn't exactly the most fun way to show off videos you capture with your Flip. Fortunately, you can use FlipShare to easily share your special video moments or movies you've edited: Just upload your creations (or even pictures you capture from your videos) to a number of popular Web-based social networking sites, including Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube. You can also upload your creations to your very own Flip Channel, which you're automatically entitled to if you install and run FlipShare — even if you don't own a Flip camera! (Shhh, let's keep that fact a secret between us!)

In addition to sharing your content online, you can also save a video clip, snapshot, or complete movie or slideshow as a file that you can upload to your own Web site or another Web site.

In this chapter, I show you how to upload your video and photo creations to those popular social networking services via FlipShare. I also show you how to save your creations as a file you can upload to other video- and picture-sharing Web sites that aren't listed as options in FlipShare, such as Vimeo and Picasa Web Albums.
