Abstract
Agriculture is an important source of living and vital part of the Indian economy. As per survey, nearly 70% Indian people are dependent on agriculture. Agriculture industry has adopted different new technologies to meet the demands of the growing population. New technologies like Internet of Things (IoT) are now widely applied in the agriculture industry to improve the operational efficiency, quality of product and diminish the waste. There are different applications of IOT in agriculture such as smart farming, precision farming, agricultural drones etc.
Smart farming is basically the application of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in the field of agriculture. In IoT-based smart farming a system is constructed to monitor the crop field by using different sensors to measure light, temperature, humidity, moisture of soil etc. and to develop automatic irrigation systems. On the other hand, precision farming is another important application of IoT which is related to CropMetrics.
In this paper we have first reviewed the IOT based smart farming system in detail and then in the next section precision farming is reviewed. All the existing techniques are reviewed along with their merits and demerits. At last we have discussed the other scope ...
