3. Other Pleats
The previous chapter introduced the four basic types of pleat and the next one shows how they can be used to create a huge array of surfaces and forms. This short chapter is transitional. It introduces concepts that are a little less basic, but which are still generic. As such, they deserve a chapter of their own.
Although short, this chapter could easily expand to become the longest in the book. A great number of variations can be derived from any set of basic techniques. The ones included here (Spiral pleats, Gathered pleats and Twisted pleats) are those which experience has shown to be the most useful and most versatile. ...
