For architectural photography the sun is your primary light source. It is the most readily available, most powerful, and most beautiful light you can use. Even when photographing interiors sunlight will give you excellent results if timed carefully. And that is the key to using sunlight— timing is critical. You must be in the right place at the right time so that the sun is lighting your shot from the optimal position. The sun will not follow you nor will it wait for you, so you must follow it.
