So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
CHAPTER 3Increasing Forecast Precision
Chapter 2 presented the essentials, including data collection, the basic forecasting formulas, and how to deal with some uncomfortable realities. Once you get familiar with the essential forecasting formulas and you've performed a few forecasts, you'll start to wonder how you can increase forecast precision. Increasing forecast precision may be simpler than you think.
This chapter focuses on taking the essentials to the next level. First, we'll look at some com mon forecasting "gotchas." Then I will introduce you to other forecasting models, baseline selection, and a better response time formula. We'll also look at how to calculate better averages.
