4.5. Predesign Decisions

What is the design format? Who is the FPGA manufacturer? What tools should be used? These are some of the decisions that should be made prior to creating the design. However, if the design does not require manufacturer-dependent resources, such as memory, then you can wait until synthesis before deciding on the manufacturer and part number. Some options for each decision are shown in Figure 4-6. The design package may define one or some predesign decisions.
