Configuring X-Windows with the xf86config Script
If for whatever reason, you cannot use or do not want to use the graphical configuration tool described in Chapter 2, “Installing FreeBSD,” there is an older shell script-based configuration tool available in X-Windows. This tool will ask you a series of questions and configure X-Windows based on the answers you provide.
Caution
Improper use of this tool when configuring video settings could actually cause physical damage to your hardware.
