In 2017, something life changing happened to me. Fiverr called me in to film a commercial in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. At this point in my life, this was probably the coolest thing that had ever happened to me. A major international company wanted me to be in their commercial—wow. I agreed to it instantly and showed up a few weeks later on a gloomy, drizzly day. The shoot was set to happen inside one of the warehouses north of Williamsburg. That was basically all Fiverr had told me at the time.
As I went inside, I saw a few other Fiverr sellers and a big crew set up with a stool in the middle of a dark gray industrial room. I stood around for a bit and finally mustered up the courage to ask one of the Fiverr staffers what the commercial was going to focus on. He looked at me and went, “Oh! They haven't told you yet? You are filming for the launch of Fiverr PRO.”
I stared at him, puzzled, and blurted out, “Um, what is Fiverr PRO?”
He laughed, knowing this program was going to change my life long before I did. He responded, “It's going to be the top 1% of the platform. It's the premier program that's going to put Fiverr on the map for having the best freelancing talent in the world.”
