3.1    Chapter Objective

This chapter introduces the reader to the concepts of Lean and, by way of consequence, Agile. We will then discuss the concept of a Lean and Agile organization, a Lean and Agile IT, and a Lean and Agile IT roadmap. To this effect, we will ultimately provide the reader with a summary of what it would mean for an organization, an IT department, and an IT roadmap to be Lean and Agile.
