More on Enterprise Architecture (EA)

5.1    Chapter Objective

While the previous chapter provided a short introduction to the concept of enterprise architecture (EA), this chapter takes a more detailed look at the different layers of the EA, examining how they fit together as part of the overall framework.

5.2    EA Framework

While there are many EA frameworks, defined as how some of these EA layers should fit together (such as the Open Group’s TOGAF and the Zachmann’s framework), what we are going to examine is close to the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) as seen in Figure 5.1.

By further examining Figure 5.1, you can see that there are five layers to the EA.
