Video is primarily a visual medium, but oft en the moment an edit occurs is driven more by the sound than by the picture. Truthfully at least 50% of a video is the audio. So let’s look at working with sound in Final Cut Pro. With few exceptions, sound almost never cuts with the picture. Generally the sound comes first and then the picture, but sometimes the picture leads the sound; rarely do they cut together. The principal reason video and audio are so oft en cut separately is that we see and hear quite differently.
