Knowledge development on occupational accident processes was rather limited in this period. Only three models were published, all reflecting a system safety and socio-technical approach. But quite a lot of attention was given to safety management and safety culture. Safety management was heavily influenced by developments in quality management. The section on North America is extended to cover both North America and Australia, because publications from Australia are entering the safety domain.
