Making the Most of Available Light

Some photographers rely solely on the light at hand. These purists capture images with what nature (or the shooting environment) gives them. Landscape photographers wait for the perfect time of day to shoot, getting up before the sun to get to their locations early. They search to find the perfect spot to shoot as the sun rises (or sets). Truly beautiful shots can be captured during those magical hours of lighting.

Other photographers know they have to work with only what they have. It’s not likely that a bride will reschedule her wedding time for a time when lighting is best. ...
