Summary of the benefits of high-performance teams
It is surprisingly difficult to find objective evidence to prove that high-performance teams are more successful or productive in the workplace. Studies have been done with groups on management development programmes, with work teams as part of PhD theses and similar situations. Logically, it could be awkward to evaluate two teams or more in the workplace and compare their performance and assess how they interact as teams. There are examples which can be drawn from within the armed forces, medical teams in operating theatres and aircrews on the flight deck which support the messages carried throughout this book.
