'90s Bubble Era The years during late 1990s ending with the March 2000 stock market decline when euphoria reigned, especially in high-tech, Internet, telecom, and a few other stock sectors. Investment bank brokerage firms went wild with initial public offerings (IPOs). Analysts lost all sense of objectivity in promoting speculative, excessively priced stocks.

10-K report An annual filing to the SEC required of publicly held companies that includes extensive financials and commentary on the business. Widely available to the public.

10-Q report A quarterly filing to the SEC required of publicly held companies, less detailed than the 10-K, includes financials and commentary on the business. Widely available to the public.
