In the prior chapter, we examined the organizational life cycle and the challenges it presents to enterprise risk management. In this chapter, we have the stories of companies that confronted life cycle in different ways. Although they were not necessarily aware of enterprise risk management when they dealt with life cycle risk, we can share the stories of IBM, Microsoft, and Apple from an ERM perspective.
