In this chapter, we will look at the metadata repositories for data management.

As you progress through the chapter, you’ll notice a transition from concrete, basic, and present-oriented metadata repositories to increasingly abstract, high-level repositories, culminating in the most abstract and future-oriented metadata repository: The Enterprise Architecture Management Tool.

Consider this chapter a journey—from illustrating the simple present to addressing the intricate future that also needs depiction.
