What Are Puzzle and Casual Games?

Puzzle games have been around for a long time, but they really came into their own with the advent of mobile game platforms and inexpensive, downloadable games. They’re generally single-player omnipresent games that challenge the mind rather than the reflexes.

Casual games are a market rather than a genre, games that are easy for inexperienced players to pick up and play. Casual games don’t require the player to devote too much time to learning how to play, and are designed to work with very short play sessions. They’re included in this e-book because many puzzle games are also casual games.
