Abstract

An electric power grid is an interrelated electrical network consisting of an electrical power generating station, electrical power transmission system, electrical power distribution system, and the end consumer. Electrical power generation is of two types. Direct current or DC flows because of the potential difference between two lines of a circuit. Alternating current or AC is very different and complicated; it is produced by Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, which states that the time rate of change of flux through a coil induces a voltage in it.
