Abstract

Solar photovoltaic energy systems are one of the key drivers behind the changing grid and changes to utility business models. However, there is great concern as to how solar intermittency may affect the rollout and realization of solar energy benefits. A range of intermittency countermeasures exist, and the characterization, consideration, and application of these countermeasures is becoming increasingly important, as renewable penetration, energy storage, and changing consumer behavior compound.
