Chapter 2. Trend/Countertrend

Sir Isaac Newton changed science with his laws of physics, one of which said that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. While Newton was not known for being a social scientist or market analyst, he would likely have been retained today as a high-priced consultant for his brilliant observations. For, indeed, in the world of human activity, every trend creates its opposite, or countertrend: Countertrends don't happen despite trends; they happen because of them.
