Institutional foreign exchange is the big end of town when it comes to the FX market. This is the home of the inter-bank and wholesale market. Though bigger, it is by no means necessarily any more able in its ability to assess and profit from the FX market.
However, unlike the little person, what institutional investors can do as a group will sometimes have a large bearing on short to medium moves in the currency markets.
