Chord progression

Probably the first time you played with any musical instrument, you quickly realized that just mashing keys or notes just sounds awful. However, what you may not have realized is that there are actually some basic rules or theories we can use to make music. So far, we have covered the basic counting rules for constructing a major or minor chord. This method of counting not only extends to chords but also chord progressions and scales. We will cover scales later, but let's see how we can count the distance between two chords. The following diagram shows two chords, the key doesn't matter, and how we count the distance between chords:
