A trade-off between quality of service and energy consumption, measured as the ratio of transmission rate to transmit power, is used as the energy-efficiency rating in a distributed multiple access channel, and the system is modeled as a non-cooperative game.
The static model is used to analyze the distributed power problem, and then a pricing mechanism is introduced to improve the transmitters’ utilities at equilibrium, but this requires global state information at all the transmitters.
