Abstract
For making a quality garment, it is necessary to know all types of stitches and seams. A seam is the basic structural element of a garment. It is the means by which two pieces of fabric are joined together. The choice of seam is most important for the final appearance and wearing qualities of the garment. A stitch is the unit of a seam, made by three principles – interlooping, intralooping and interlacing – to join two plies of fabric.
