Hydrogen bromide (HBr) is an electron-attaching, polar molecule with 36 electrons. It has electronic polarizability of 4.017 × 10−40 F m2, dipole moment of 0.827 D, and ionization potential of 11.66 eV. The dissociation energy is 3.795 eV and the vibrational energy is 328.4 meV. The electron affinity of the molecule is 0.11 eV (Christophorou et al., 1968), and that of the attaching atom, Br, is 3.364 eV.
