In this chapter we lay the foundation for much of the Gen Z Effect, delving into the dramatic changes on the horizon for population demographics by introducing the concept of population pyramids and exploring the way they have been, and will continue, morphing. We’ll also introduce influence and affluence pyramids, explain how to avoid the generational traps that we often fall into, and explore the validity of “generation gaps” as well as identify methods that close the gaps by looking beyond generational boundaries.
