Financial services is extremely powerful and profitable but remains extremely gender unequal. This is despite how women control the vast majority of consumer spending globally and are therefore very influential as consumers. However, as consumers of financial products and services women significantly trail men with regards to financial benefits. To gain further insight into why women fare worse than men in consumer terms, we will now discuss how women are treated as consumers of financial services and how women's attitudes and behaviours differ to men's when it comes to making decision about how to invest their savings.
