INTRODUCTION
Music is an important expression of the political, social, and cultural context of contemporary society. Furthermore, musical lyrics have a significant influence on the construction, perpetuation, and/or the transformation of gender structures and roles. Nevertheless, little research has been carried out on Basque music from this perspective.
