For the purposes of discussion in this chapter, I talk about two distinct groups of users: content creators and artists. Content generators typically focus on producing a high volume of material designed to engage audiences and drive specific outcomes like clicks or sales, often using trends and SEO strategies. Artists, in contrast, prioritize personal expression and creativity, aiming to evoke emotion and thought through original and innovative works that may hold cultural significance. I treat them separately because their projects and goals diverge sharply, and they will (or should) use the same GenAI tools in very different ways.
For content creators, GenAI can be a quick and brilliant fix to fill their need for illustrations, charts and graphs, form and design, and other renderings that illuminate, educate, and entice audiences.
