Foreword

Interdisciplinary, application oriented Indian textbooks are the need of the 21st century in Indian higher education, especially in the area of medical sciences. There is also an imminent need for these textbooks to be updated by providing an international orientation of the chosen discipline for the students to whom the book is targeted.

Under this concept of textbook requirements, I am overwhelmed to record that the textbook titled “Genetics for Nurses” authored by Ms. V. Deepa Parvathi of the Department of Human Genetics, Sri Ramachandra University, has fully satisfied these requirements.
