Thus far, we have described the biosciences as they relate to healthcare, examined their relationships to other industries such as information technology, and reviewed the current business segments through which the biosciences are commercialized. We have also discussed the stresses on healthcare systems around the world. We now turn an eye to the future, looking out to about 2025. This year is more than just an arbitrary marker of a quarter century; it represents a time period that is especially relevant to us and our children.
