How to Write Content for Any Social Media Platform
Social media content follows a similar pattern across all the different channels. This works across any social media channel and any format.
It breaks down into these sections:
- The Hook: In order to stop people from scrolling, you need to say, show, or do something that gives them a compelling reason to give you the 10 seconds.
- The Teaser: Within the next 10 seconds, you should be giving the viewer a compelling reason to read or watch to the end by means of some promise of reward for the time invested.
- Substance: For the remainder of the video, you should be working with the objective of delivering on the promise of value and giving the viewer an emotional reaction from the content. This is an emotional reaction that has made it worth their time to watch or read what you had to offer. These emotional reactions can involve, among other things, anger, sadness, laughter, fascination, inspiration, and realization.
- Wrap Up: Before you finish the post, remind the viewer how this can make a difference to them.
- Call to Action: At the end of all this, you should leave with a call to action. Tell them clearly what you want them to do next.
