Here are some guidelines to make sure you get a response and some additional tips for jobs that make sense to apply to.

Apply to Jobs Within the First Two Days They Are Posted

“A job requisition came across my desk on a Monday morning that was a great match for two candidates I was working with at the time. The first candidate told me she was interested and I shared her resume immediately. She had a phone screen that evening, an interview on Wednesday, and by Thursday they were checking references. The other candidate took three days to get back to me. When I sent his resume in, the hiring manager told me, ‘He's got great experience, but we're already so far down the road with the first candidate that we don't need more.’ The job posting was only four days old.
