Why can’t we get it together at work? Why do we always feel so busy? Despite the fact that we all feel like we’re working harder and longer hours than ever before, sociologist John P. Robinson from the University of Maryland stresses that this is a form of widespread self-delusion. When studying the average number of hours on the job, he discovered that the numbers have either held steady or decreased for the 40 years! His findings show that we actually have more time for leisure than we did in the past.1

So, if we aren’t working more hours but still feeling overworked, what is causing this feeling? It’s likely the way we’re spending our time, further proving that we need to get it together.
