When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
2 Have an In
In every major metropolitan area, there are always clubs that are THE spot to be and near impossible to gain entry. You can tell which one by the ridiculously long lines and notoriously difficult doormen. Inevitably, while you are waiting in line, there is a group of people who walk right to the front with a hug or handshake with the doorman and stroll right into the bar, while the rest of the people wait for their turn, which often never comes. I have been on both sides of this equation, and I have to admit that I prefer not waiting in line. In your professional life, you will often feel like you are in the back of the line behind your competition, wishing you had a way to move up in the pecking order. ...
