Data visualization is one of the most active areas at the intersection of code and graphics and is also one of the most popular uses of p5.js. This chapter builds on what has been discussed about storing and loading data earlier in the book and introduces more features relevant to data sets that might be used for visualization.

There is a wide range of software that can output standard visualizations like bar charts and scatter plots. However, writing code to create visualization from scratch provides more control over the output and encourages users to imagine, explore, and create more unique representations of data.
