Meet the Maker

Zach Kaplan (Figure 6-1) is the founder of Inventables and the primary author of this book. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. Zach was first introduced to fidget spinners by 14-year-old Finn Callaghan. Finn, who earned seventh place at the Pacific Northwest Regional Yo-Yo Competition in 2016, designs and builds his own yo-yos and fidget spinners. In February 2017, Finn launched his own website called Alpine Spin Co. Finn first learned about spinners from YouTube, where he saw a video on how to make a spinner using popsicle sticks.
