Feedback is not always easy to give or receive. The giver and receiver both need to be open—open to the fundamental benefits of the feedback and open to the possibility that the feedback being given may be based on incorrect assumptions. When both parties believe that the feedback can have real value, both can focus on the message and not rush through it.
