IT WAS FINALLY time for Denise’s first semi-annual feedback meeting with David, and she was determined to make it productive. She believed she had a strong report card but hoped they could accomplish something useful. She stepped into his office. David was sitting behind his desk with papers scattered in front of him.
He was looking at the figures on the performance of the assembly department, glanced up, and said, “Please, sit down.”
David was smiling, but in a somewhat guarded way. I wonder what’s going on. I thought this would be a slam dunk. I even hoped for a bit of a raise, Denise thought.
