The late Jack Rivkin is famous in finance circles for turning around a disorganized and underperforming investment research department, along the way creating practices that became standard across the field.²² Upon his death in 2016, he was widely remembered for taking the now-shuttered firm Shearson from fifteenth to first place in Institutional Investor’s definitive ranking of industry analysts and for mentoring some of Wall Street’s brightest stars.
